What do you think of as typical British desserts? Tea and cakes only? Maybe there's more to British desserts than that! Great Britain is full of delicious desserts, especially pies and puddings and I have rounded up my favourite three for you to try out if you plan a trip to Great Britain!

Banoffee Pie: Banoffee Pie is an English dessert pie made from bananas, cream and toffee, combined either on a pastry base or one made from crumbled biscuits and butter. Some versions of the recipe also include chocolate, coffee or both.

Queen of Puddings: Queen of Puddings is a traditional British dessert, consisting of a baked, breadcrumb-thickened mixture, spread with jam and topped with meringue. Variants of puddings made with breadcrumbs boiled with milk can be found dating back to the seventeenth century.

Cherries Jubilee: Cherries Jubilee is a genuine, traditional English dessert prepared with cherries and liqueur, which is flambéed and commonly served as a sauce over vanilla ice cream. The recipe is generally credited to Auguste Escoffier, a French chef, who prepared the dish for one of Queen Victoria’s Jubilee celebrations, widely thought to be the Diamond Jubilee in 1897.

To be honest, I have never tried any of them; however, their ingredients impressed me a lot.
If I had to choose one, it would definitely be the Cherries Jubilee because I love both cherries and ice cream. I would recommend this dessert during summer months when it is hot as it is refreshing and cooling. Mind the liqueur though!!!
