Hello, nice to meet you! My name is Martina and I would like to share with you my love for tennis. Yes, because tennis is my favourite sport!
I like tennis because it is a mental sport; it helps me to reduce stress whenever I am angry and under pressure and therefore I can transfer all my energy into a small yellow ball.

Tennis equipment is very simple: a fluorescent yellow ball and a racket. That’s it! Ah, don’t forget your uniform. Girls’ uniforms are so colourful, comfortable and trendy.

Where do you play tennis? Tennis is played on a rectangular court with a net running across the centre; however it is played on a variety of surface materials: grass, clay, acrylic hard courts, synthetic hard courts, and carpet.

What is the aim of tennis? Tennis is a game played by either two players (singles) or four (doubles). The aim is to hit the ball over the net landing the ball within the margins of the opponent’s court.
When the other player cannot return the ball within the court, a point is won.

What about scoring? Tennis has got a number of games and each game has got points. You need to score four points to win a game of tennis. The points are known “love” (0 points), 15 (1 point), 30 (two points), 40 (three points). If the score goes to 40-40 this is known as deuce.

Who is the winner? To win the game you must win a certain number of sets. Winning a set is simply the first player to reach 6 games and to be clear by at least 2 games. If your opponent wins 5 games you must win the set 7-5. If the set goes to 6-6 then a tiebreak is played and it’s simply the first player to 7 points (and at least two points ahead).
Is it clear now? Would you like to play tennis with me?
